Helping purpose-driven leaders and experts make their work resonate with the people they hope to reach.
Hey, I'm Anne.
First things first, my consulting services are specifically tailored to support purpose-driven founders, leaders, authors and experts who are trying to effect positive change in the world.
If you're here, I'll assume you have a vision for what you'd like to see happen in your life (and/or in the world), but that there's a gap between what you see as possible and the current reach of your project, expertise or products.
You want to see and feel coherence between what you believe, what you're building and how you communicate it. But most of all, you want your work to be heard, understood and supported by the people who matter. You're committed to a cause, a community or an idea that could advance positive change.
You're in good hands.
I honed my abilities over two decades of brand development and communications work in the luxury industry (more on that further down), including 17 years in a scrappy, entrepreneurial business that I helped grow into a globally recognised brand. Working alongside a founder with a powerful vision for all those years, I know more than a thing or two about helping big dreams become reality.
If we could make red soles ubiquitous through the unending passion (and hard work) of their designer, I can help your project find resonance with the people you care about.
To do that, we need to go deep. Nothing about what I do is about tactics or quick fixes. First, we lay the foundations and build a communications strategy. Then I'll help you find the right partners to execute it, or guide you if you'd prefer to do that yourself.
I often say I'm a catalyst for change - I can illustrate this with a story, ask me about it if we end up speaking together. Don't work with me if you want to stick with the status quo.
But if you're ready to make something happen, get in touch.
The full package
Many people think of me as a digital marketer, due to prior successes with a particular social media project which you can read about in this article in WWD. But that‘s only a small part of the picture.
Working with me is the equivalent of engaging a narrative coach, a mindfulness teacher, a general manager (think business development and operations) and a former Global Head of Communications — simultaneously.
That's not a metaphor. It's the very combination of training, experience and practice I bring to every client engagement.
How I work
Every assignment starts with in-depth conversations about your business or project, your experience, what's worked and what hasn't, and the questions you're wrestling with now. We'll explore your values, mission, vision and objectives before developing your communications strategy.
This typically unfolds over the first two months. By month three, we'll be looking at how to bring that strategy to life, including the right channels, opportunities and partners to help your work reach the people you care about.
You may read this and think: Oh, I want this to go much faster than that.
We can accelerate the process, but there's a caveat. Working with someone like me is going to generate more work for you. And some of what we uncover needs time to sink in. I know this from experience, having worked with consultants who gave me more work to do, and more to think about, than I could handle.
Some of my clients have said that working with me feels like therapy. Don't roll your eyes, I didn't ask for this, but it does say something about the kind of work I do and the space I hold.
If you want to make an impact and be known for who you are and what you do, know that the process does feel like... work.
Joyful, generous, meaningful work.
Before you get in touch
I believe good communication is essential to bringing meaningful ideas into the world. If you think it's all hot air, we're probably not going to get along.
My approach begins with the foundations, even when you think you already know your story, your values and what you want to achieve.
My best clients come curious, open to being challenged and willing to do the work. And guess what? Their results are almost immediate, and often impressive.
Because of what they bring to the table.
And that brings me to something important. Working together requires a commitment of three things: your time, your effort and your money.
All three matter. If you're not ready to invest in the process, financially as well as personally, we won't be able to achieve the kind of transformation you're looking for.
If you are, I'd love to hear what you're working on.
What clients say.
We were introduced to Anne Mühlethaler a year ago to look into digital marketing consultation for our company. What we found was that Anne has given us so much more than just marketing advice. As a business that has been active for over 25 years we were in desperate need of a post‑covid look at ourselves, our ethos, our dreams, our communication and our mission. Anne has held our hand through advice on difficult conversations, introductions to helpful relevant external partners and helping us step outside ourselves and look at the business from a new perspective. It has been an extremely helpful, inspiring, motivating and exciting journey that we just want to carry on with Anne forever.
Anne has the unique ability to almost act as a human mirror. She is able to comprehend the essence of a person or project and reflect it back in a way that allows one to see it clearly for oneself.
Working with Anne Mühlethaler is one of the best decisions I have made, both professionally and personally. Anne has the keen ability to see both the big picture as to potential growth of my business as well as some critical ways to better organize the day‑to‑day business operations.
Anne is an incredible people‑connector and through her extensive network of contacts, I have been able to expand my business into new venues and new business opportunities, as well as introducing me to talented consultants that bring fresh perspectives and energy to my business.
Anne always operates at the highest level of confidentiality. She is smart, thoughtful, trustworthy, and a pleasure to work with.
Anne allowed me to focus on the needs of the company. From recruiting the right elements in these troubled times, to visualising the brand's DNA through social media, Anne is a true multifaceted professional.
Anne was brought in to distill the vision of the founder and creative director into a clearly deliverable global communications strategy. She was tasked with sourcing new talent to lead agreed activations, while simultaneously mentoring a young communications team.
Anne's approach was agile and results driven, ranging from strategy to implementation, board level to inter‑departmental, external to internal communications, all while keeping the broader business goals in mind.
Anne is a changemaker and can be relied on to bring innovative approaches and new perspectives to any project. I would not hesitate to work with her again.
Anne Mühlethaler was recommended to me by a friend and not only did I discover an amazing person but also a great asset for my company. She has on top of that a very mindful and human approach to the business.
Anne is a “visionnaire”, she is very good at growing your business on a 360 level.
I couldn't have asked for a better sparring partner than Anne. Not only does she have an in‑depth understanding of the fashion industry, she takes a holistic view on the projects she's working on — calm, always friendly, and highly competent.
About me, Anne V Mühlethaler.
17 years at Christian Louboutin — from shop assistant to general manager to the brand's first SVP of Global Communications.
Following that, seven years as an independent communications and business advisor, working with founders of luxury and design brands. And then the founder of Le Trente, a social learning studio at the intersection of mindfulness, story and authentic expression.
She is a certified mindfulness meditation teacher (MMTCP with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield), a trained life coach (Martha Beck's Wayfinder programme), and has studied nonviolent communication, somatic awareness, contemplative psychotherapy and narrative.
She is also the creator of the Story of You methodology, a framework working at the intersection of identity, belief systems and professional communication. Anne is forever learning (and generally enrolled in one or two programs at any given time). Currently getting her ass metaphorically kicked by Public Narrative: Leadership, Storytelling, and Action, with Prof. Marshall Ganz at Harvard’s Kennedy School.

"Working with you has changed my life. You have given me my story — how precious is that? And you have given me the confidence to make this move now, without fear."
